Introduction
YOD Gallery is pleased to announce the group exhibition “Interbeing”, featuring fifteen artists.
This exhibition began with invitations to artists who have had a relationship with our gallery in the past. From there,
each participating artist reached out to other creators whom they trust and are connected with, and through this organic process,
the circle of participants gradually expanded. As the exhibition took shape through these human connections,
it became a living expression of the relationships among the artists themselves.
We hope viewers will sense the depth and resonance that emerge from these relationships through the artworks on display.
Concept
This exhibition focuses on the various boundaries we unconsciously draw in contemporary society—and seeks to explore the deeper notion of “interbeing” that lies beyond them.
“Boundaries” and “Creation”
In our daily lives, we perceive the world through countless invisible lines—between “inside” and “outside,” “self” and “other.”
While such boundaries can bring order and a sense of security, they can also obscure the complexity, multiplicity, and interconnectedness of things.
In the realm of art, however, these boundaries are fluid. Painting, photography, ceramics, installation, and other diverse forms encounter, merge, and are constantly reconfigured. This ongoing process challenges and renews our perceptions and values.
The act of creation inherently transcends established frameworks and, at times, even questions the very existence of boundaries themselves.
The theme “Interbeing” does not merely refer to physical or social connectedness. It also extends to relationships with what may seem absent—past moments,
fading memories, distant places, and yet-unseen futures. These “absent presences” continue to dwell within us and in the world, quietly influencing and shaping our existence.
The fifteen participating artists, each with distinct backgrounds and modes of expression,
collectively present a vision of a world where diverse values intersect and resonate through the power of creation.
Through their works, we invite viewers to encounter moments where different existences meet and echo with one another—and, in doing so,
to reflect anew on our own existence and the diversity of the world around us.
