YOD Gallery (Tennoz, Tokyo) is pleased to present UNCONDITIONAL, a group exhibition featuring 13 Filipino artists, on view from September 9 (Wed.) through October 3 (Sat.), 2026.

The exhibition is part of TENNOZ ART WEEK 2026, taking place from September 10 (Thu.) to 13 (Sun.). The exhibition will open on September 9, with an opening reception held from 18:00 to 21:00 on the same day.

UNCONDITIONAL brings together 13 artists from different generations and artistic practices within the contemporary art scene in the Philippines. Taking “the unconditional” as its central theme, the exhibition explores the various “conditions” that shape human experience—including thought, memory, time, materials, culture, and everyday life—and the processes through which they undergo transformation.

The exhibition features works that transform everyday materials into new forms, reposition familiar motifs within different contexts, reinterpret established artistic genres, and translate personal memories and experiences into mythology and metaphor. Through these diverse approaches, the 13 participating artists each engage with the forces of transformation embedded within everyday life, as well as the time and memories accumulated within it.

The concept of UNCONDITIONAL suggests more than simply being free from existing conditions. Rather, the works are shaped by various conditions while simultaneously transforming into something else through those very conditions. Through these processes of transformation, the exhibition considers the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the past and the present, and individual experience, culture, and history.

We warmly invite you to experience this exhibition.
