Graduated from Waseda University Faculty of Law and completed Intermedium Research Institute.
Started producing works such as literary arts, paintings, photographs, and videos while still at university. After engaging in various professions both domestically and internationally, he began to present his works. Starting from the installation, he now works in visual media centered on photography. Under the theme of "time," "light," "place," and "space," he develops works that constantly touch the structure of photographs and images under a variety of subjects. By scooping up a world that has never been perceived even though it is a phenomenon in everyday life, it invites the viewer to a new perception and develops a work that incorporates a critical metaphor for history, society, and civilization. continuing. "Exhibition of photography, 7 contemporary artists to photograph" (Osaka Prefectural Center for Contemporary Art, 2001) "In the margins of landscape: photography" (Tokyo Japan-French Academy, 2002) — Places and scenes” (National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, 2002) “Natura Morta” (Leica gallery Solms, solo exhibition, 2006, Leica headquarters in Germany) “Dwelling” (sponsored by the Setagaya Museum, 2008) “Kunihiko Katsumata Exhibition” (Mori Art Center Roppongi Hills Club, 2011) "Unconsciousness of the city" (National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, 2013) "Aichi Triennale 2016" (Yasuo Okazaki, "Transdimension: Future of Image" 2016), etc. Major awards include the "Sagamihara Photo Rookie Encouragement Award" (2001) and the "Japan Photographic Society Rookie Award" (2005).
